Petra is growing well but did not have the stress of having to go to stud with her mum. We decided just to keep them both at home because of the possibility of disease or injury which we have experienced in past years. She is going to be a nice bay colour with black points which is pleasing.

Weaning went without incident and mummy went to winter grazing with the rest of the mares and Marty was kept at home to be with Petra and this has worked well. Petra is great and with Lynsey\'s skill at join-up she has learned a lot but much more to learn I think.

Petra has been rather neglected over the summer (2012) when we were concentrating on the others.
She was produced for Omagh show and did us proud, winning the Connemara Championship and Reserve Champion of the Mixed Mountain & Moorland. She will be much better placed next year, when she will be 3, to compete in the 1to3 year-old classes.
